Synopsis: Like a lot of moms, I have to prepare several lunches every day. Feeding my kids a healthy, balanced diet is important to me but I have to admit that making lunches is one of my least favourite actvities. At least, it was until I came across LunchBots stainless steel lunch containers! Read my review and see how making lunches can be fun again.

Like a lot of moms, I have to prepare several lunches every day. Feeding my kids a healthy, balanced diet is important to me but I have to admit that making lunches is one of my least favourite actvities. At least, it was until I came across LunchBots stainless steel lunch containers! LunchBots are new to Canada but they're sure to become a hit very quickly (remember how Klean Kanteens started out?) - if you're sick of plastic containers that may leech chemicals into your food, and don't want to create daily waste by using sandwich bags and plastic wrap, then LunchBots are the answer you've been looking for.

I was immediately attracted to their gorgeous bright colours and easy to handle shape. The medium sized Uno fits a sandwich and a few veggies quite nicely, while the small divided Pico works well for kids' for snacks. The larger divided Duo provides ample space for two kinds of adult snacks, while the super-sized Eco can fit a hungry adult's lunch. Although not water tight, they close very nicely and the lids stay on well, unlike some other stainless containers I've tested. Also they are not insulated but because metal conducts cold better than plastic they will stay nicely chilled in an insulated lunchbox.

Now in the morning when I set about my lunch making duties I'm actually happy to see these fun, useful containers in the cupboard just waiting to be filled (I never thought I'd say that about lunch containers!) My 8 year old also gave them an A+ for keeping her lunch from getting squashed and keep her snacks nicely separated (can't have them touching - sheesh - kids!) LunchBots are dishwasher safe (top rack) and come in blue, organe, yellow and green.
